How Winners Are Verified
Every GiveawayGoose winner is drawn randomly from the pool of valid entries and verified for U.S. residency and age before any prize ships. Here is the procedure, step by step, so you can see exactly how it works.
The drawing procedure
When a giveaway closes, an editor pulls the valid-entry list from our database and feeds it into a seeded random selection. The selection uses a documented method so the same input produces a reproducible result.
The selected winner is contacted by email and given a deadline to confirm. They must verify their name, U.S. address, and that they are 18 or older. If we cannot verify those, we redraw — and document the redraw.
What we publish about winners
First name + last initial and state, with the winner's consent. We never publish full names, full addresses, phone numbers, or photos without explicit permission. The Winners archive lists every confirmed winner this way.
